How to Reduce Gear Noise of CNC Gear Hobbing Machine

Noise is one of the performance indicators for judging CNC gear hobbing machines. With the development of science and technology, stricter requirements have been put forward for noise targets. Gear noise is the source of noise for the entire CNC gear hobbing machine, therefore reducing the gear noise of the CNC gear hobbing machine is the primary condition. Generally speaking, if you want to reduce the gear noise of CNC gear hobbing machines, you can control it through the following points:

1、 Raw material requirements: Raw materials are a prerequisite for product production and undergo strict testing. Timely adjust the heat treatment deformation to improve the quality of tooth profile processing.

2、 Prevention of heat treatment deformation: After rough machining, the gear blank is transformed into a precision forging and normalized or tempered to achieve the following points:

1. Eliminate residual stress.

2. Refine grain size and improve microstructure to improve the mechanical properties of steel.

3. Soften the steel parts to be cut.

4. Prepare for final treatment. It should be pointed out that during the normalizing or quenching and tempering process, the temperature of the furnace must be uniform, and station equipment should be selected to evenly heat and cool the workpiece, and it is prohibited to stack them together. For gears that require drilling to reduce weight, the drilling sequence should be arranged after heat treatment. The final heat treatment of the gear adopts high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface, which makes the parts less prone to deformation; The surface of teeth obtained after high-frequency quenching has high strength, hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue limit, while the heart still adheres to the plasticity and toughness it meets. Reduce distortion. The high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface should use a lower quenching temperature and shorter heating time, evenly heating and slowly cooling.

3、 Control gear accuracy: Basic requirements for gear accuracy: After actual verification, gear accuracy must be controlled within GB10995-887-8. For gears with a linear speed greater than 20m/s, the limit deviation is tooth pitch. The radial runout service of the gear ring and the public service facing the teeth must be stable in order to achieve level 7 accuracy. When reaching level 7 precision gears, the teeth should be inverted and attention should be paid to the root boss.

4、 Accuracy requirements of gear blank: the scale accuracy of gear hole is required to be distributed near the center difference of hole deviation value and set to ± 0.003~± 0.005mm; If it exceeds the tolerance range and falls within the planning requirements of the hole, it must be classified and gear cutting must be carried out separately. The end face and radial runout of the blank are of level 6, set within the range of 0.01-0.02mm.

In fact, when dealing with the noise of CNC gear hobbing machines, it is not only necessary to pay attention to the requirements of materials and machining accuracy, but also to pay attention to the daily maintenance of operators, so that the CNC gear hobbing machine can have lower noise and faster efficiency.
